Willem II hands a point against leader Heracles, Den Bosch does win

Willem II handed over a point against leader Heracles Almelo on Friday evening, within sight of the harbor. After the home team had come close to the winning goal a few times, it was Bruns who worked in the 1-2 in the last minute of official time. FC Den Bosch did take the three points against De Graafschap, while Helmond Sport and TOP Oss went down hard.

Willem II – Heracles Almelo 1-2
The frontrunner came to visit in Tilburg. And Kevin Hofland’s team must have smelled blood, because Heracles suffered a painful loss at Almere City last week.

Immediately after kick-off, the match was stopped for a while, because the goal of Willem II goalie Lamprou was no longer visible due to a fireworks show. Then it was the home team who started the game stormy. Only after half an hour Heracles also insisted every now and then. Just before half time, that almost led to the 0-1, but Lamprou kept a header from Hoogma out of the goal with a wonderful reflex.

After the break it was Willem II who took the lead. After a quickly taken corner, Doodeman gave the ball tight in front of the goal, where Hornkamp (changed very quickly against Jong Ajax earlier in the week) finished coolly. Armenteros was then close to 1-1, but his drive ended up on the crossbar. In the last minute of official playing time, it was a hit. Bruns plunged Tilburg into mourning by making the 1-2.

NAC Breda – Telstar 1-1
With just one win in the last five league games, it’s safe to say that NAC is in dramatic form. The home game against Telstar, which has already been unbeaten for seven games, but has the same number of points (17), had to change that for the people of Breda.

In any case, the start was promising. After a few half chances, it was Kotzebue who could walk in at the far post after more than twenty minutes of play. But there was no way to celebrate for long: on the other hand, a corner was used immediately after the opening goal. It immediately meant the final score.

FC Den Bosch – De Graafschap 2-1
In De Vliert, it was the visitors who struck first. And how: Alexander Büttner put his team ahead with a real world goal. Büttner’s volley from the sideline at least thirty meters from the goal flew over goalkeeper Van der Steen. But that wasn’t the end of it, as far as pearls of goals are concerned. Just before half time it was Joey Konings who equalized with a bicycle kick.

After the break FC Den Bosch continued. That led to the lead after 63 minutes, when Van den Bogert headed in from a corner. It turned out to be the winning goal.

MVV Maastricht – Helmond Sport 4-0
The away match in the south of Limburg already seemed a fairly impossible task for the Helmonders. Although last week’s great victory (2-1 against ADO Den Haag) will have given a glimmer of hope.

That hope lasted exactly 23 minutes. Then it was Van Bommel who managed to fumble the ball in. Fifteen minutes later, the same Van Bommel also provided the assist for the 2-0. Souren got his goal on a silver platter.

It didn’t go much better for Helmond Sport after the break. Lorentzen scored an own goal when he hit a ball completely wrong. And another own goal followed. This time it was Van der Meer, who worked the ball behind goalkeeper Havekotte: 4-0.

TOP Oss – PEC Zwolle 0-5
There was already a special moment in Oss before the match. The home team completed the warm-up in a special shirt, bearing the Amnesty International logo. That action – and Friday night’s entire match – was dominated by the petition advocating for exploited workers in Qatar.

A sympathetic action, but the visitors were not interested in that. Already after seven minutes the ball was in the net, after a hard long shot from Taha. And after half an hour of play, the game seemed decided, when Thy doubled the lead after poor defense. After the break, the score was further increased via Chirino, again Thy and Van den Belt.
