King Willem-Alexander has none other than Tina Nijkamp, the viewing grade authority of our country, to graze in a harsh manner. “That man is a terrible jerk.”
The Outblinkerslunch has since become a royal tradition at Noordeinde Palace: a special dinner in which the King and Queen honor Dutch people who have distinguished themselves in a striking way. Tina Nijkamp also received that honor: she was allowed to join in 2009, because she was named Omroepvrouw of the Year as the boss of SBS 6.
Beside the king
Tina had really put a lot of effort into representative. “I got there. I had my makeup done by Mari van der Ven. I had let it come home, because I thought: I am royalty fan. I had bought a dress, a very nice one and I also hired a driver,” she says in the podcast The Media Week.
She continues: “I thought: well, then I have no stress to go there, to Noordeinde Palace. Well, it all went well and then I got there and then Simone Kleinsma was too late for lunch and then I was put next to Willem-Alexander at the last minute. And then I was sitting next to Willem-Alexander.”
Very derogatory
It was also unexpected for Willem-Alexander. “He said,” Why are you here? ” I said, “Well, because I have become broadcaster of the year.” Yes, of course he had practiced on Simone Kleinsma who would sit next to him, but he was in the traffic jam, and suddenly Tina Nijkamp was sitting next to him? “
What did the king think? “He did very denigrating about SBS 6. I found that very unfortunate. He looked shocked at ‘SBS 6’. I said,” Yes, yes, nice, isn’t it, “I said so. And then he said,” Yes, well, we never really look at SBS 6. ” Then I had already eaten and drank again, because of course everyone always looked down on SBS 6. ”
Round table
Tina took revenge on the king a little later. “I said later – because it was a round table and then I recovered, because I was a bit out of the field – from:” Oh, but you don’t look at the Dutch national team, at the qualifying competitions? Because we have the rights of that. ” And then he said, “Oh yes, of course that.”
“Well, then the conversation was over, because besides me was someone who had won an African art prize. Well, that was of course much more important. You know how that goes.”
“A hobby!”
It was very intense, according to Tina, who also told this story two and a half years ago at HLF8. And Queen Máxima? “She did nice to me. After that with coffee. Yes, she was very nice. Willem-Alexander is a jerk, but she was very nice. She was really fun.”
