These are Kafkaesque situations: a Belgian pilot who turns 65 next week will have to work a year longer due to the new pension law. However, Europe does not allow this, because pilots are no longer allowed to fly commercial scheduled flights after the age of 65. This is reason enough for the unions to submit a joint strike notice. Are pilots in danger of quitting work en masse just before the summer? We ask the union and aviation economist Wouter Dewulf.
