Denise van der Laan is announced as one of the four protagonists of the new SBS 6 reality series ‘The Hanslers: from the slopes to the playa’, but she is already revealing the outcome. “This is not good.”
SBS 6 starts after the weekend, on Monday at half past eight, with the new reality series De Hanslers, which focuses on the eccentric mother Monique and her son Mike from Winter Vol Liefde. They pose in the press photo together with his girlfriend Denise and her husband, but she now confirms that her relationship with Mike ended months ago.
Mike is silent
Mike did not want to say that at Talpa’s press presentation on Monday. “You will all see that in the series. I am not allowed to say anything about that yet. You will all see that in the series,” he said in front of the camera. RTL Boulevard.
The reporter on duty then: “You’re not going to confirm today that we’ve broken up?”
He: “I’m not going to confirm that today, indeed.”
Denise confirms
Denise still does that now. “I am heartbroken. I can no longer keep this to myself,” she says to the show section.
Reporter Aran Bade: “I think they are taking advantage of Denise a bit. Then just say that the relationship is over, but that you will see the whole story in the series. Denise says: ‘I had to pretend for a few months as if we still had a relationship, I was not allowed to say anything and every time I had to hide and in the Netherlands I could no longer go outside.’”
‘It’s special’
Show expert Eline de Ruig calls it in Show news ‘special’ that Denise confirmed their break-up just the day before the premiere. And even though they have really been apart for months. “You can see that they just really wanted to keep it all a secret for that soap.”
She continues: “I also feel really sorry for Denise that she was not able to make this story public earlier and that she has become a victim of the format. At the same time, you also say yes to something, so you have to keep your mouth shut, okay, but this is such a personal thing and there is so much sadness…”
Bad for ratings?
Will this affect the viewing figures of the SBS 6 soap? “I find it difficult to say. On the one hand you can say: we already know how it will end, namely that they are no longer together. Then it is quite difficult to get through the first weeks in which you see that they are very nice together, while we all know that things will turn out differently later.”
“At the same time: if we see that relationship breakdown in that series, it is still quite interesting to see how it went. They don’t say anything about that now.”
Tina critical
TV authority Tina Nijkamp thinks that SBS 6 will have problems with this. “I get a lot of questions about whether this is good for the viewing figures. No, I don’t think so. As if you already know the ending of the film before you go to the cinema,” she writes on her analysis channel.
‘De Hanslers: from the slopes to the playa’ can be seen every Monday evening at 8.30 pm from next week, in other words: at the old time of De Meilandjes.
