RB Leipzig will soon need a new head coach. It is open whether interim coach Löw will stay longer. Now a name appears that is very familiar in the Red Bull cosmos.
Matthias Jaissle is apparently on the slip of RB Leipzig. According to a report by the “Bild”, the coach that is currently working in Saudi Arabia is said to be a possible candidate for the Bundesliga club in summer.
Jaissle, currently chief coach at the Al-Nahli club, switched to Saudi Professional League in July 2023 by the Austrian series master Red Bull Salzburg. On Saturday, the former defender, who had to end his professional career at the age of 25, will be 37 years old.
During his time in Salzburg, Jaissle won the double in 2022 and won the championship again in 2023. Between 2015 and 2017 he also worked as a co-coach of Sebastian Hoeneß in the youth area of RB Leipzig. So there has been a connection to the club for a long time.
As the tabloid continues, Jaissle is currently considered the best paid German trainer-his contract in Saudi Arabia runs until the end of June 2026. Nevertheless, it should move back to Europe. In particular, Mario Gomez, technical director at RB Leipzig, and Managing Director Marcel Schäfer, according to the report, should keep a lot of him.
After the separation from Marco Rose, Zsolt Löw initially took over the trainer office at the Leipzigers until the end of the season. In his first game on the sidelines, the Saxons missed the cup final, lost 1: 3 at VfB Stuttgart on Wednesday.
It is open whether Löw will stay beyond the summer. In the Bundesliga, RB is currently in sixth place, three points behind the desired Champions League-Platz Four.
