EV Zug was already 0-0 in the final against Zurich Lions, but the team then took four games to the tube and became the Swiss champion on Sunday.

The decisive seventh final ended in a 3-1 victory for Zug. The heroes of the team were Dario Simion (2 + 1) Jan Kovar (0 + 2) and 27-goal goalkeeper Leonardo Genoni.

Kovar, familiar from the Czech national team, won the playoffs. In 15 playoff matches, the man tapped handsome powers 5 + 16 = 21.

In the ranks of Zurich, the spooky melting was witnessed by the Finns Tommi Kivistö. The basic pack, which began its season in the Jokers, moved to Switzerland after Russia launched an offensive war in Ukraine and the fool shirts put their season into the pack.

There were no Finns playing in Zug’s championship team, but Finnish colors may still be seen at the championship party, as it is Kimi Räikkönen favourite team. The former F1 star even bought shares of Zug in 2010.

The championship was the third in club history for Zug. The previous championships are from 2021 and 1998.
