Hélène Hendriks has had a radical operation, so she still has a lot of pain. Will she ever be top fit or do we see her standing on television for the rest of her career?
This summer, Hélène Hendriks was able to present her own talk show De Oranjezomer for two weeks. And then standing alone, because of the persistent back pain. For SBS 6 the popular presenter is worth gold, so the big question is: how lasting is the damage? Will she only be deeply used? And standing exclusively?
Out of wheelchairs
Hélène tells in the Friday-Vi That at least she is out of her wheelchair. “I am completely out of that wheelchair again. It is going well. I have been working again for almost a month, so it is going well. I am not there yet. A lot of rehabilitation, but I can sit.”
For the time being she will just remain in the Oranjezondag, which will return to TV tonight. “I’m going to stand, because otherwise they have to renew everything there again.”
Financial matter
Johan Derksen finds that witty. “Oh, it’s a financial affair now? You have to be now?”
Hélène: “Yes, hahahaha.”
She has lost a lot of weight. “Yes, that goes without saying, if you are in pain.”
Top fit
When is Hélène top fit again? She says in In the corridors: “Well, in a month or three, I think. Yes.”
Is the pain gone then? “I think so, but I don’t complain. I am honestly also really done to talk about that.”
Furthermore, she hopes that people no longer wish her strength too often. “That is also very sweet, but it is more about being uncomfortable with it. I think: yes, there are other important things. Just talk about other things.”
