Will André Hazes Jr. cancel his participation in Heel Holland Zingt Hazes or will he make an appearance anyway? He will eventually do it, but: “I actually don’t want to make money for Rachel.”
It will undoubtedly be a bitter feeling for André Hazes Jr. when he performs on stage for four evenings at Holland Zingt Hazes in March. After all, by appearing there he is adding to the war chest of his mother Rachel Hazes. He seriously considered canceling the event and accepting the alleged sky-high fine, but decided against it.
Bond with Iris
André tells in conversation with Shownieuws — the entire broadcast Yesterday the focus was on a one-on-one interview that Evert Santegoeds held with him in the Concertgebouw – that he finds it a difficult situation. “The thing with Holland Zingt Hazes is… Of course: Rachel is co-owner of the concept, but there is also another party involved.”
And that is MediaLane, the company of Iris van den Ende, the daughter of billionaire Joop van den Ende. “I have been working with them for twelve years and those people are in my heart. I love Iris. We now really have a bond that I can say that. I don’t want to make her sad so quickly, you know? Also when it comes to the upcoming Holland Zingt Hazes…”
Money for Rachel
For the first time, André reveals that he had serious doubts about his participation. “You can be honest: I didn’t want to participate anymore. That has nothing to do with the old man and nothing to do with his music, but making money for Rachel on that stage makes me unable to look in the mirror, you know?”
“But when I look at the other people who work very hard behind the scenes and in production, and the problems they will get into if I now decide not to participate anymore… I’d rather not look at myself for a few days the mirror and then I know that I am good for them, and I know that people count on me on that stage.”

So André has made a decision. “So I have decided to participate this year, yes.”
And in 2026? “I really don’t know. I would say with great affection that yes. I have quite a few friends in the profession and there are quite a few people who have said: ‘If you stop participating, I will stop too’, and I know they do it, so if I wanted to I could start with my own concept start, but the Netherlands is very small and I don’t feel like complaining, you know?”
“I don’t want to be that guy who starts causing problems with people I’ve worked well with for years.”
Addiction
Music expert Ronald Molendijk points out at the desk that Rachel knowingly gives her son four very difficult evenings. “There is someone there who we know: he has addiction problems, he was admitted for that and has worked hard on it. And one of the most important things for someone taking those steps is to be honest.”
“He says here that he actually wouldn’t want to be there, because he won’t be able to look at himself in the mirror for a few days. If mother Hazes doesn’t have a flashing light on yet, then I don’t really know how that would be clear there. ‘My mother’
It is of course not without reason that André gives this big TV interview to Evert, because Rachel really hates him. In the book she comes up with, the Private Boss also seems to be discussed extensively. “I think you get the first chapter. Haha,” André confirms.
He calls Rachel ‘my mother’ once in that interview, but that is by accident: “I don’t say ‘my mother’ anymore. I also ask people around me for that… So I repeat you now with ‘my mother’ and I don’t want that anymore. I want that to fade a bit, so to speak… “
Ever good?
The big question is will things ever work out for Rachel? “I have been in this boat before and I always had the hope that things would turn out well. Then I gave her another chance and now I have really decided for myself that I don’t want it anymore.”
