The Wilhelmina Hospital Assen (WZA) has reported arson and burglary. Last week Brand broke out in the white outbuilding behind the hospital, better known as the tea house. The WZA owns the building.

At the hospital they are disappointed. “Very unfortunate, the tea house had just been renovated,” says a spokesperson. “It would serve as a small meeting room, but that kite is not going on now.”

Due to the fire, the tea house, a national monument from 1813, has become impassable. “We have closed it with shelves. We have to recover, but that will take a while. In the meantime we will have to meet somewhere else,” the spokesperson concluded.
