Wilfred Genee hints that Eddy Keur will indeed become one of his colleagues at Talpa. “I can congratulate you on the new morning show, I understand, right?” he says. Is Gordon in danger?
Radio authority Patrick Kicken has heard that John de Mol’s patience with Radio 10’s listening figures has run out. He would like to demote Gordon from the morning rush hour to the weekend, and according to the radio columnist, Eddy Keur would be a good option for the replacement. Goor himself denies that there is such a relegation.
Congratulate Eddy
Wilfred Genee, however, seems to have inside information. He is a guest by telephone in the NPO Radio 2show by Eddy and says: “I can congratulate you on the new morning show, I understand, right?”
Eddy awkwardly: “Hahaha. Yes, you’re getting ahead of yourself! Hahaha.”
A little later Wilfred talks about his new single and who wrote it. “This song came by from Lex Gaarthuis, that guy from Radio 10.”
‘I don’t know!’
Eddy then pretends he has never heard of Lex. “We don’t know.”
Wilfred: “No, you don’t know him, but he will soon be your colleague, I understand, so it’s important to remember!”
Eddy: “Hahaha.”
Wilfred: “But then the song came along and I thought: that is such a great song, I just have to do it.”
Angry Bird
At the end of the interview, Eddy makes a joke about Wilfred’s booking platform Showbird. Eddy is not allowed to mention that name to the public broadcaster. “Can people book you through Angry Bird?”, he says.
Wilfred: “Hahahaha. You mean Showbird? Yes, very good! That will soon be much easier at Radio 10, right, you know that!”
Eddy: “Yes, I know, yes, but that is then and that is not now.”
Scorn from Irene
By the way, Wilfred also gets a sneer from Eddy’s sidekick Irene Moors during the radio interview. She says that she finds Today Inside horrible.
“I’m not a big fan of the program, but that doesn’t matter. I think it’s exciting television, because what happens there is real and it’s live, and I really like live. There is a very large audience for it, but I’m not one of them.”
