The involuntary “outing” is a phenomenon of the 1980s and 1990s. For example, US pop star and teen icon Tiffany (“I Think We’re Alone Now”) described musician Jonathan Knight from the boy band New Kids on the Block as “gay” on the American talk show “Watch What Happens Live”. In Germany, in the early 1990s, the filmmaker and activist Rosa von Praunheim outed mainstream celebrities such as show host Alfred Biolek and Hape Kerkeling, also without being asked. In times past, such “leaks” caused a real stir in the media and the public.
So it’s a bit surprising that over three decades later there’s another prominent outing that has already made waves across the Atlantic.
UK tabloids such as the Daily Mail claim that American actor Will Smith “denies gay rumors”!
The background is a “shocking interview” in which the 55-year-old Oscar winner is accused of having sex with actor Duane Martin.
In a statement released by his management on Tuesday (November 14th) it is clear: “Clearly wrong!”
His brother and ex-assistant Bilaal claimed this in an interview with presenter Tasha K (“Unwine with Tasha K.”); after wife Jada Pinkett Smith previously revealed they have been “secretly” separated for seven years.
Will Smith has strongly denied the revelation that he was caught having sex with Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Duane Martin.
Bilaal, in turn, said he caught the ex-rapper and “Men in Black” star and Martin having sex in Martin’s dressing room. He said, “I opened the door to Duane’s dressing room and there I saw Duane having anal sex with Will.”
Furthermore, in true riotous fashion, he also made unflattering claims about Smith’s masculinity, comparing his penis to the size of a “little toe.”
A spokesman for Oscar winner Smith emphasized in a statement to the gossip portal TMZ on Tuesday that this story was “completely made up.” Another source told the portal that Smith was already “considering massive legal action.”
Background: Duane Martin, 58, was married to actress Tisha Campbell from 1996 to 2020. The Brooklyn-born film and TV celebrity is best known for his appearances in the series “LA’s Finest” and in the US format “All of Us”. Martin has worked with Will Smith on a number of projects in the past, including two episodes of his films The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1993 and 1995 and three episodes of the 2022 project Reboots Bel-Air .
