Fenerbahçe’s Slovak defender Milan Skriniar made a statement after the Plzen match, which ended 0-0.

Stating that they knew the match would be difficult, the Slovak defender said that they could not reflect the game they wanted on the field in the first half and said:

“We knew it would be a difficult match. An opponent that makes man-marking, we couldn’t control the ball in the first half. We were better in the second half, we created chances but we couldn’t turn them into goals.”

“WE COULD HAVE DONE BETTER”

“We could have reflected better football on the field,” said the 30-year-old defender and continued:

“We tried and wanted to win, but we couldn’t. As a result, we didn’t concede a goal and I’m happy about that. We were a little below the other matches in terms of struggle. We could have done a little better than the previous matches.”

“THE REFEREE TOLD ME…”

90+5 of the match. Speaking about the situation where Jhon Duran was down in the penalty area and the yellow-dark blue team was waiting for a penalty in the minute, the Slovak star conveyed the conversation he had with the referee after the VAR review with the following words:

“I saw Jhon Duran’s position as a clear penalty. I did not watch the replay afterwards. Referee Allard Lindhout said that Jhon Duran took the first shot. It is a strange situation, but the referee decided like this.”
