Ducati’s domain, which has been going on for six seasons, seemed destined to rewrite yet another record in the history of MotoGP. Instead, the victory in Johann Zarco’s French GP with the Honda of the LCR team by Lucio Cecchinello, interrupts a very long strip of victories from the Italian company. It is since 2020 that in Borgo Panigale celebrate at least one title between the World Cup, teams and builders. With the victory at Le Mans, France, Honda, Ducati is missing overtaking: Borgo Panigale remains at 22 consecutive victories in Top Class such as the HRC 1997-98 (the recently introduced sprints are obviously excluded). In the history of the World Championship, since 1949, it has always been Italy and Japan who battled in this special ranking, starting in 1954 with Gilera who led 5 first consecutive places in a championship radically different from what we are used to. From then on, the teams have done better and better. Let’s see who wrote their name on this list.
