The popular Drenthe quiz LOOS is back! In the coming weeks, fanatical participants will compete against each other again in 22 episodes full of questions and surprises. The first episode can be seen tonight and the grand finale on Tuesday, March 31. “It will be an exciting new season, with great candidates,” says Esmée Söllner of RTV Drenthe.
Two new rounds have been added this season. “First the children’s round, in which the questions are asked by children. And we have a category round, in which the category is different every episode and that keeps it varied,” says Söllner.
Last season the win went to Alie Veen from Oosterhesselen. “The jar is still in my cupboard, in a place where I can see it clearly,” she says. Veen had not expected that she would win. “My brother once participated and I thought it would be fun too. Then I just signed up.”
After her victory, Veen suddenly became a well-known Drenthe. “I was approached a lot in the beginning. In Emmen I often go to the fruit farmer and even he received comments that I was the winner. Whether he knew that,” she says laughing. “When the replays are broadcast, I get a lot of reactions again. But they are all nice comments.”
Veen, those around her, also did not expect her to walk away with the win. “My environment said: you will never make it. Yet I kept getting one episode further. Only my husband and I knew what happened. That was nice to keep a secret for a while.”
She has another tip for the new candidates: “Be yourself and, as was said at the time, take a chance. Above all, use your common sense.”
She briefly thought about registering again, but she especially likes the fact that there will be a new winner this year. “It’s only nice that winners recover.”
This year’s participants are between 27 and 79 years old. Whoever takes home the trophy and the honorary title ‘Most Loze Drent 2026’ can be seen in the final on March 31.
“This season, the winner will once again receive the LOOS trophy and the title ‘loosest Drent of the year’,” says Söllner.
