The judicial investigation into drug trafficking that shook the municipality of Morón has as its main target Luna Suyai Ortigozaa 27-year-old official who until a few days ago served as director of the Comprehensive Territorial Center for Gender and Diversity Policies of the administration headed by Lucas Ghi. The case became public after members of the Argentine Federal Police raided his home in the town of Castelar Sur and found more than half a kilo of cocaine, in addition to other elements considered of interest for the investigation. Since then, Ortigoza remains a fugitive and a national arrest warrant is pending against her.

The judicial file began in March 2026 based on anonymous complaints from neighbors who warned about movements compatible with drug sales in different parts of western Buenos Aires. The investigation was left in the hands of Morón Prosecutor’s Office No. 9, in charge of the prosecutors Marisa Monti and Emiliano Rodríguez Reggiani, while the raids were authorized by the Guarantee Court No. 1, headed by Judge Laura Mariel Pinto. According to national media, the investigation points to an alleged organization dedicated to the marketing of narcotics in the area.

During the operation carried out at Ortigoza’s home, located on 2500 Isabel de Pardo Street, in Castelar Sur, the agents seized a brick of cocaine weighing approximately 480 grams, several additional wrappers with about 85 more grams of the same substance, a digital scale, cash and cell phones. Firearms and documentation that are now part of the case would also have been found. The official was not at home when the Federal Police entered, which is why the Justice Department issued an arrest warrant.

The investigation included at least eight simultaneous raids in different homes in Morón and Castelar. Among the properties reviewed are homes located at Pasaje Florit at 3600, Eduardo Cogliatti at 3500, Gabriel Miró at 3000, 14 de Julio at 3300, Presidente Ortiz at 3800 and Zabaleta at 500, all considered by investigators as possible points linked to the gang’s operations.

Ortigoza had entered the municipal structure within the area of gender and diversity policies, where she fulfilled territorial functions and articulated social and assistance programs. According to different journalistic publications, within the municipality he had a role linked to addressing social problems and gender violence. His figure was relatively well-known within the local political and social fabric, especially in militant sectors close to the municipal government.

After knowing the results of the raids, the municipality of Morón announced its immediate removal. The mayor Lucas Ghi He maintained that “we are going to provide all the resources and means within our reach so that the investigation advances and all the people involved are held accountable before Justice.” Furthermore, from the commune they highlighted that the official stopped providing services as soon as they became aware of the case and assured that there was “deep disappointment” about the situation.

In parallel, the case also investigates Ortigoza’s link with other people identified as members of the organization. One of the names mentioned is Angel Daniel Pazaccused of being the alleged partner of the official and currently also wanted by Justice. Investigators are trying to determine if the raided home functioned as a drug collection or distribution site and what the level of participation of each suspect was within the investigated structure.

According to versions published in national media, Ortigoza would have told people around him that the items found in his house belonged to an ex-partner who “had left things” in the house. It even emerged that she would be taking refuge in the home of relatives and that she was considering appearing in court once her procedural situation was clarified. However, she remains a fugitive to this day.

The political repercussion of the case was immediate because the accused held a sensitive position within the municipal structure and because the file involves alleged drug trafficking crimes in the area of the Buenos Aires suburbs. While Justice advances with the analysis of cell phones, communications and documentation seized in the raids, the case seeks to establish whether a consolidated marketing network existed, how it was financed and what was the territorial dimension of the operation investigated.
