Ed Sheeran has swiftly responded to a report claiming he attended a New Year’s Eve party at JK Rowling’s Scottish residence. In his Instagram stories He denied the Sun report that he had accepted the Harry Potter author’s invitation to celebrate the New Year 2025 with her.

More and more people are distancing themselves from JK Rowling
JK Rowling is being rejected by more and more prominent colleagues. The 59-year-old is considered a tough critic of trans rights and positions herself primarily on trans issues on X. She most recently posted in December that “no child is born in the wrong body” and that “there are no trans children.” She also posted cases of trans women who are said to have (sexually) abused other women.
JK Rowling will be involved in the new “Harry Potter” series. Some of the stars of the earlier “Harry Potter” films have distanced themselves from the author. Including Daniel Readcliffe (Harry) and Emma Watson (Hermione). Rowling was not invited to a throwback TV special to mark the 20th anniversary of the first movie “The Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001).
In his Instagram Stories, Ed Sheeran responded to India Willoughby’s post: “With all due respect, India Willoughby, and all the other journalists who covered these two stories. Both are not true. I spent New Year’s Eve with my friends and family.”
The journalist responded to Ed Sheeran on He didn’t respond to her inquiry about whether he had been to Rowling’s New Year’s Eve party. That was probably enough for her to say, “Yes, he was there.”
Ed Sheeran’s name has now been removed from the Sun’s original report. JK Rowling last spoke out on
She condemns “the left” and “the right” equally: “A loud section of the left still refuses to step out of its bubble in which sex is seen as a social construct. And to acknowledge that their gender identity ideology was a disaster. They were warned that the right would capitalize on their betrayal of women and girls. They didn’t listen.”
