Team Olympic champion Dorothee Schneider left the competition behind in dressage at the Grand Prix of the Wiesbaden horse show on Sunday evening. The judges gave the performance of the 53-year-old First Romance a total of 73.239 percent.

She thus won clearly ahead of the Belgian Laurence Vanommeslaghe with Havalon (72.826) and Juliane Brunkhorst with Aperol, which was rated 72.304 percent. After several mistakes, the favorite Isabell Werth took fifth place with her mare Superb (71.261).

Oatley repeats 2007 win

The Australian dressage rider Kristy Oatley, who had already won in Wiesbaden in 2007, won the Grand Prix Freestyle. The 43-year-old, who lives in Lütjensee, received a rating of 79.430 percent for her performance on Du Soleil. She thus won clearly ahead of Vanommeslaghe with Edison (77.570 percent). Third was Anja Plönzke with Fahrenheit, the two received 76.615 percent.

In show jumping, the Irishman Cian O’Connor was ahead again: with his horse Taj Mahal he was clear in the jump-off in a time of 47.52 seconds at the price of the Hessian Prime Minister. He won just ahead of the Brazilian Bernard Cardoso De Resende Alves with El Torreo De Muze, who rode a touch slower (47.91). Third place also went to an Irishman with Max Wachman and Quintini (0/48.88). O’Connor had already won the main test on the jumping arena the day before.
