While Los Angeles burns, insurer sounds the alarm due to extreme costs of natural disasters: 310 billion in 2024

Last year, natural disasters caused approximately 320 billion dollars, or more than 310 billion euros, in damage worldwide – considerably more than average. “Our planet’s weather machine is going into high gear. Everyone pays the price,” warns the major German reinsurer Munich Re, which measures these figures annually.
