‘He’s a kind of tennis God’
AMSTERDAM – His opponent Nick Kyrgios already noted it in his talk afterwards. “I played well, but he’s like a tennis god.” This is, of course, about Novak Djokovic. The yelling, whining and sucking of his Australian opponent left him cold in the Wimbledon final. The pressure on the Serb was enormous, but as always he gave home when it really mattered and equaled his great idol Pete Sampras with his seventh title on the holy grass: 4-6, 6-3, 6- 4 and 7-6 (3).
