Jack Spijkerman was still the largest viewing figure gun in our country in 2005, but then it went downhill uphill with the VARA breaker. We are now twenty years later. Where is he?

In the heyday of Kopspijkers, no one could have suspected that Jack Spijkerman’s fame would implode like this. For years it was the most viewed program on Dutch television, but his transfer from the Red VARA to the Poenige Talpa really shot completely in the wrong way with the population. Suddenly he was a flop.

Where is Jack?

Is the 76-year-old Jack not disappointed how his TV career ended? Where is he now and does he not want to be on television just like Henny Huisman (73)? No, he says in the Story. “I consciously stopped as a TV presenter at the age of 65, to make room for the younger generation.”

He continues: “I have continued to do fun things. For example, I am now a volunteer for the Ajax archive and I regularly present a pub quiz. In addition, I occasionally give a lecture and I am on Bonaire for about six weeks in the winter. I still suffered bronchitis in January, I still suffer from it. It is annoying, but not bad.”

John de Mol

Does Jack feel that Talpa boss John de Mol dropped him? “John asked me in the past if I wanted to brainstorm with him, I did that for a while. But then he also wanted to make a contract, for which I thanked. I said,” Then you will call me late in the evening, I don’t do that. “So that remained without obligation.”

Nowadays he is without work and without a woman. “I am doing well. I feel comfortable.”
