Irene Moors has smashed her own glasses, but has been sulking for years now that she really wants a TV reunion with Carlo Boszhard. When will she give up that dream? “I’m not getting any calls.”

It is a shame what Irene Moors has done with her TV career. She had a Jochem van Gelder-like eureka moment and thought she would do well to exchange her successful Sunday shows with Carlo Boszhard for – cheers – a primetime career at SBS 6. Well, everyone knows how that ended. We really don’t see Irene anywhere anymore.

Irene remains hopeful

Carlo, on the other hand, has remained loyal to RTL 4 and that has done him no harm. He is still extremely successful at the channel, but the channel is no longer interested in a renewed duo with Irene.

Yet Irene still continues to hope for it. “If I can sit at a table with Carlo again, I will come immediately,” she now shouts again in the phone LINDA. “We would like that too, but everyone immediately shouts that they want to see a good format. But we are the format.”

58 years old

Irene thinks she is no longer asked because of her age. “On the other hand, I am now 58 and you are no longer called so quickly to present a program. That is not a problem, because room also has to be made for the new generation.”

It still seems to be a sore point for the presenter that her TV career ended this way. “It’s not that I’m done with television, but I accept it as it is.”

Healthy

Irene is now focusing on other matters. “I’m still in the business, but now more behind the scenes – presentation training, coaching – and I was in the theater last year. People somehow always think that you’re doing badly when you’re no longer on TV, but you’re doing fine.”

“I enjoy my job, I am very busy. What I do miss is the team. Making a live Sunday afternoon program with all those people, being part of a channel together. I loved that, because I am a companion animal. Freelancing, doing everything alone, that is difficult: I prefer to be part of a family.”
