It finally starts on Monday, the most traditional tournament in the tennis world. On the sacred lawn of Wimbledon, the best men and women in tennis are looking for the winner of this year’s Wimbledon Championships. Where can the third Grand Slam tournament of the year be seen live on TV and stream?

From a German point of view, the disillusionment has been great in recent weeks. According to the ATP world rankings, Germany’s tennis superstar Alexander Zverev would have traveled to London as the top seeded player. The Hamburger is currently number two in the world, the Russian world number one Dannil Medvedev is not allowed to play for the two weeks in the British capital.

After the serious foot injury from the semifinals of the French Open against Rafael Nadal with a triple torn ligament, Zverev is doomed to watch in Wimbledon and has to postpone his next attempt to finally win one of the four Grand Slam tournaments.

The top favorite for men is Serbian Novak Djokovic. The dethroned world number one has already won the tournament six times and won all of the last three editions.

In the women’s competition, the assembled world class dreams of victory in the final, which is scheduled for July 9th. No player has managed to defend her singles title since 2016.

After her triumph in 2018 and her semi-final entry in 2021, Angelique Kerber wants to cause a sensation again this year. The German number 19 in the world is no longer one of the hot title contenders.

In contrast to the three other Grand Slam tournaments, there are no live images of the classic lawn in Wimbledon for German tennis fans on free-to-air television.
