What do you think: It is completely unclear to me how high my energy bill will be

Price ceilings, stoves and very expensive gas: the energy discussion is in the news all the time. But there are so many terms and regulations that come up that it becomes a very complicated sum.

Do you have any idea what you actually have to pay for your gas and electricity?

The price ceiling has been set as of 1 January at 1.40 euros per cubic meter of gas up to 1200 m3 gas per year, and 0.40 euros per kWh up to 2900 kWh per year. For the use that exceeds the ceiling, the consumer has to pay the market price. And due to the current scarcity, it is currently higher than before.

In addition, there will be an energy compensation of 190 euros per month. This compensation is paid in November and December, and is settled via the energy bill. You pay a lower price for gas and electricity up to the ceiling, all use above that is more expensive, so 190 euros will be deducted from the total price of your energy in November and December. Do you still keep track of exactly what you have to pay for your energy?
