This year there are more wasps than previous years. And they are there before too. It is due to the mild winter combined with a warm spring with lots of sun. Wasp fighters are busier than ever removing nests.
Wasps can be a nuisance, but they also have an important function. “They eat a lot of mosquitoes and flies, so they remove all the small animals that bother us,” says forester Pauline Arends.
