After the ‘pitch’ that meant ‘Game of Thrones’, HBO Max had been looking for a successor for some time that could achieve the same success as the series based on the saga ‘Song of ice and fire’ of George R.R. On August 21 (22 in Spain), the platform launches ‘The House of the Dragon’ (‘House of Dragon’)the prequel of the story starring Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, the Lannister brothers and the Stark family. Published in 2018, it is the first of two volumes (the second is yet to be published) that delves into this influential house of ancestry Valyria who reigned for almost 300 years in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. But the story is set 200 years before ‘Game of Thrones’, starting with Aegon I Targaryensthe Conqueror, creator of the coveted Iron Throne, and followed by the rest of the generations of Targaryens who fought against all odds to retain power, and the throne, until the arrival of the civil war that almost ended them.

But good men don’t necessarily make great kings, and even his own family doesn’t seem to make it easy for him on the throne.
In the novel, narrated by a cult master of the Citadel, RR Martin delves into the Dragon Dancethe civil war forged in the very heart of the Targaryens, and shows what Westeros was like when dragons ruled the skies.
The cast
Another of the protagonists of ‘La Casa del Dragón’ (‘House of Dragon’) is matt smith (‘The Crown’), in the role of the prince Daemon Targaryens, younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne. An incomparable warrior and rider of dragons.
Also in the cast are Olivia Cooke What Alicent Hightowerthe daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King and the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms, and Emma D’Arcy like the princess Rhaenyra Targaryensthe eldest daughter of the king, of pure Valyrian blood and a true dragon rider.
Steve Toussaint it is Lord Corlys Velaryon, ‘The Sea Serpent’ which has the largest army in the world. He is the lord of House Velaryon, a Valyrian bloodline as old as House Targaryen.
