Her self-titled debut album was sold over half a million times, they received three Grammys, two Brit Awards and climbing in the UK charts. To date, her music has been streamed over half a billion times. The single “Chaise Longue” in particular really went off. Yes, Wet Leg from Great Britain have long been able to make a name for themselves internationally. Now Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale have announced the successor to their 2022 first -time. The title: Moisturizer. The plate is scheduled to appear on July 11th. The production was taken over by Dan Carey again. A first single release can now be heard.

Everything about Moisturizer and love

In the press text on the announced publication, among other things: “[…] Written in a house in Southwold, somewhere between horror films, tour flashbacks and warehouse scooters. Sounds of chaos? Is it too – but with a plan. The list of ingredients: friendship, madness, alien films, lesbian sex, guitars, quick successes, even faster crashes. Where the debut was still balanced between indie pop and sarcasm, Moisturizer turns on the controller. More force, more madness, more melodies. “

And Hester Chambers emphasizes the joy of experimentation that everyone felt when writing: “We just had fun and wanted to explore.” Rhian Teasdale adds that you had the dance potential of the whole in mind when creating the pieces.

In addition, it was probably out of the question for WET LEG that they would work with the same people as before (see Dan Carey): “We focused on: Will it be fun to play the live? It was natural that we would write the second record together.”

In terms of content, it should be primarily about love (and madness) on Moisturizer. Rhian Teasdale concretizes: “I thought I was hetero until I hit my partner. Now I am writing love songs in which I don’t bother to a man – feels better.”
