Westerveld fire letter about wolves has an effect: Jumelet agrees to a meeting

The province of Drenthe is in talks with residents of the municipality of Westerveld about wolves’ attacks on livestock. According to deputy Henk Jumelet, the meeting is currently being prepared.

The province organizes the meeting with the area committee and the municipality of Westerveld. The day before, the municipality had sent a fire letter to the province, which was addressed to Jumelet. In it, the call was made to organize a meeting about the wolf for the residents of Westerveld in the short term.

According to the municipality, there have been many attacks by wolves in Westerveld recently. “This leads to unrest and sadness and anger among the animal keepers in our municipality. As a college, we are very concerned about the well-being of our residents and the animal welfare of the animals that are attacked.”
