For a year and a half, Tim Steidten was responsible for West Ham United’s squad. Now the German commitment ends in London.
Tim Steidten is no longer technical director at West Ham United. The English first division club announced that the coach Graham Potter, who was hired in January, brought his own squad planner with him.
Steidten switched to the Londoners in the summer of 2023, with national players Niclas Füllkrug under contract for several months. But it is not going well at the moment: After the 1-2 defeat at Chelsea FC on Monday, West Ham is only 15th in the Premier League and is in the relegation battle.
Steidten spoke of a valuable experience in a statement: “It was always my dream to work in a leading position in the Premier League. And it was actually a wonderful journey in a great club with great fans.” He also emphasized that many processes and structures were initiated in his time and talented players had been committed. Nevertheless, the separation is now the best solution for everyone involved.
Born in Bremen, he switched from Werder Bremen to Bayer Leverkusen in 2019 and played a crucial role in squad planning there. At West Ham, he recently was responsible for the strategy for playing the player and led the scouting department.
