West Ham United’s Michail Antonio was involved in an accident. The club has now announced further information.
There are great concerns about professional footballer Michail Antonio (34) at the London first division club West Ham United. “West Ham United can confirm that striker Michail Antonio was involved in a traffic accident today,” the Premier League club said in a brief statement on Saturday. “The thoughts and prayers of everyone in the club are with Michail, his family and his friends at this time,” said the “Hammers”.
The club initially did not provide any further details. On Saturday evening, the club gave an update: “Mikhail is conscious and communicating and is currently being treated under close supervision in a hospital in central London.” Antonio has been under contract with West Ham since 2015 and has scored 83 goals in 322 competitive games so far.
It is not the first time that the attacker has been involved in an accident. As the British newspaper “Mirror” reports, Antonio crashed his car into a front garden at Christmas in 2019 while wearing a snowman costume. At that time he stated that he lost control of the vehicle due to a slippery road.
