“It was a life-threatening cat and mouse game with the German occupiers,” says Fons Meester, involved in the exhibition. “After a dropping, the things had to be hidden as quickly as possible. You can hardly imagine how many risks came to see.”
According to Meester, recording these stories is of great importance to show the youth why war should never prevent. “With the current situation in the world, such as the threat from Russia and the war in Ukraine, that message is more relevant than ever,” he adds.
