The new trade agreement between the European Union and the United States causes relief at many West Flemish companies. From 1 August an import tax of 15 percent applies to European products towards the US. That is considerably less than the earlier threat of 30 percent. Nevertheless, the consequences remain felt, especially for the food and agricultural sector in our province.
