Hieperdepiep, Wessel de Beer (32) from Roosendaal has been elected the best (young) director of 2025. This is an election in which local and regional politicians, administrators, secretaries and clerks can vote for outstanding figures from the past year. And water board director Wessel emerged as the winner.
“For me, this award represents the importance of water. The work of the water boards matters,” says the enthusiastic winner. “I see it as recognition of our work.”
Open, honest and involved
The election is organized by the magazine Domestic Management and the Necker agency. They find Wessel to be a committed and accessible director, with a connecting attitude and an open mind. “He is young and connects the factions through his unifying attitude. He is open, honest and a nice personality,” says the jury.
He won in the under-40 category. It is not known how well Wessel performs behind the wheel.
