Werder Bremen: Theodor Gebre Selassie ends his career at Slovan Liberec

The longtime Bremen resident Theodor Gebre Selassie ends his career. The 36-year-old shared this on Sunday via Twitter with. “I am sure that this is the right decision,” wrote the Czech. The full-back has not been able to play for his club Slovan Liberec since the beginning of March due to a serious leg injury.

Gebre Selassie played for Werder from 2012 to 2021 in a total of 298 competitive games (24 goals/18 assists) – of all international professionals in the history of the green-whites, only Dragomir Ilic (327), Claudio Pizarro (320) and Rune came Bratseth (319) and Andreas Herzog (307) for more appearances (to Werder’s record players).
