Werder Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug has nipped in the bud any discussions about a national team nomination.
“It’s the international break right now and I’m sitting here on the podium and there’s definitely a reason for that,” said the German attacker, who is currently the most accurate German attacker with five Bundesliga goals, at a media round on Tuesday in Bremen.
The situation is “okay” for him, said Füllkrug: “It makes little sense to constantly speculate about such things and to ask me about them. There is no reason for me to comment.”
After seven matchdays, the 29-year-old is second in the Bundesliga goalscoring list behind Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker (six goals).
