Long-time Bundesliga professional Ömer Toprak is moving to Turkish Premier League club Antalyaspor after leaving Werder Bremen.
The table seventh of the past Süper Lig season is trained by Toprak’s former Bremen and Dortmund teammate Nuri Sahin. The Swiss national player Admir Mehmedi also moved from VfL Wolfsburg to Antalya in January.
As the club announced, the 27-time Turkish international Toprak signed a two-year contract. The 32-year-old central defender was born in Ravensburg and played in the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Bremen.
This summer, Werder only offered the captain of their promotion team a new contract that was heavily based on performance. However, Toprak refused this.
