The promotion starts on Friday at 6 p.m. and runs until Monday, January 20 at 6 a.m. The police organize the action several times a year to combat drugs and alcohol behind the wheel.
“The use of alcohol and drugs is one of the main causes of traffic accidents,” the police said. “Driving under the influence is irresponsible behavior that can have irreversible consequences.”
During the previous edition in January, 1.35 percent of the tested drivers tested positive for drugs or alcohol. In June it was 2.01 percent.
