Recommendations of the Editorial team

The nominees the most chaotic awards ceremonythat the Internet has to offer, it’s clear: Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and Sydney Sweeney’s Bathwater are fighting for a trophy at the Webby Awards 2026.

The 30th edition of the show – which celebrates internet excellence in all its twisted forms – takes place on May 11 in New York City. Comedian and “Daily Show” correspondent Josh Johnson will serve as host. As usual, the Webbys cover a wide range of categories, from AI, viral marketing and social media to podcasts, digital creators and music videos.

Swift’s nomination, for example, falls into the social category of Arts, Culture & Lifestyle, Social Campaigns: The agency We Are Social North America was considered for its work promoting Swift’s music video “Fate of Ophelia”. Advertising agency DDB Latina Puerto Rico received two nominations for its “Tracking Bad Bunny” campaign – an interactive project that linked locations in Puerto Rico with the tracklist reveal of “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS”.

Sweeney’s bathwater in the race

And of course, Sweeney’s Made You Feel bath water soap was up for a nomination in the Best Viral PR Campaign category. However, she faces tough competition there – including Fanatics’ and OBB Media’s “Bet on Kendall” campaign with Kendall Jenner and Duolingo’s “The Death of Duo”.

Overall, the Webby nominations read like a compact annual review of Extremely online life. “Heated Rivalry” and “Severance” each received multiple nominations, as did Timothée Chalamet’s Cash App campaign – and the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest that went viral also made it into the running. Katsey’s Gap Denim campaign was nominated, as was Lady Gaga’s Little Monster press conference with Spotify, and so was Justin Bieber’s Twitch livestream. Amy Poehler and the Kelce brothers Travis and Jason secured nominations in the podcast categories. “Sinners” also scored points with several mentions related to its marketing campaign.

The full list of nominations can be viewed on the Webbys website; The fan voting started today (March 31st).
