“The first heat wave of 2023 is a fact,” the RMI reported on Twitter this afternoon. More than 30 degrees Celsius was measured in the Uccle weather station after noon. Climatologically speaking, a heat wave is when a temperature of 25 degrees or more is measured on at least five consecutive days, of which at least three days with temperatures of 30 degrees or more.

At sea and in the Ardennes it is a bit cooler with 25 or 26 degrees. In the west, the wind will blow weak to moderate from a westerly to northwesterly direction. Elsewhere the wind is weak to often moderate from east to southeast.

Tomorrow it will be sunny with some high cloud fields. The limit of 30 degrees will probably not be reached anywhere, but with maxima between 23 degrees in the High Fens and 28 or locally 29 degrees in Flanders, the heat wave just continues. The wind blows moderately.

Wednesday starts with a lot of sun. In the afternoon cumulus clouds gradually appear. It will stay dry. The maxima fluctuate between 22 or 23 degrees in the Ardennes and up to 27 or 28 degrees in Flanders. The wind is weak to moderate from east to northeast.

Thursday morning it is sunny, but cumulus clouds appear in most regions in the afternoon. It should stay dry everywhere. The maxima fluctuate between 22 and 28 degrees in a weak to moderate northeasterly wind, shrinking to the north.

Friday will be another bright day, with a chance of some cloud fields, especially south of Sambre and Maas. The maxima are between 20 and 27 degrees. The wind is blowing weak to moderate from the north.

Also the weekend promises to be sunny and warm, with temperatures above 25 degrees.
