Weather forecast: Code yellow due to severe thunderstorms and a lot of rain | NOW

Today, the Netherlands can once again prepare for a number of fierce thunderstorms. Particularly in the south, middle and east, a lot of regional rainfall can fall and in the southeast, especially Limburg, there is a chance of very fierce showers with hail and very heavy wind gusts. The KNMI has issued a code yellow for the provinces of North Brabant, Limburg and Gelderland.

The day will start dry and the sun will show itself in many places for a while. Clouds are increasing from the south and the first showers from Belgium will move into the country towards noon.

In the afternoon heavy rain and thunderstorms will move across the country from southwest to northeast. A lot of rain can fall regionally. There is also a chance of hail and (very) heavy wind gusts of over 100 km/h. This applies to the southeast and especially to the province of Limburg. The temperature drops in the afternoon and by the end of the afternoon it is about 14 degrees at the sea to 19 degrees in the east of the Netherlands.

In the course of the evening the last showers will move through the east and northeast and it will become dry again everywhere. In the night to Saturday it cools down to about 10 degrees.
