Oleksi Vadatoersky, 74, who was mainly active in the grain industry, and his wife died when their house was shelled. Vadatoersky was the owner of the Ukrainian agricultural company Nibulon.

“This is not a coincidence, but premeditated murder,” said an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “The fact that the missile hit the bedroom of their house leaves no doubt: Vadatoersky was the target.”

According to Ukraine, Vadatoersky was an important agricultural entrepreneur. He was awarded the title of “Hero of Ukraine”, the highest national award that can be awarded to civilians. Vadatoersky was also a millionaire, and in 2021 he was ranked 24th in Forbes’ list of richest people in Ukraine.

In addition, according to the Ukrainian authorities, people were injured in the shelling of Mykolaiv. Private homes, schools, a hotel and a gym were damaged.
