The Joventut coach spoke after falling against Barça

“Congratulate them and now is the time to rest,” he said.

The coach of Joventut, Carles Duranlamented this Friday the elimination against Barça in the semifinals of the Endesa League (60-63), but congratulated his team for the season they had accomplished and the fighting spirit shown until the last second.

We have fought as hard as we could, but there is a rival who is better than us. Congratulate them and now is the time to rest, but above all, thank the people who have made us vibrate,” said the Verdinegro team’s coach at the foot of the track before the television cameras.

Duran also underlined the merit of the Badalona team in this campaign: “Thank the team, which has had a season… Being third in this league is very difficult. Now I’m screwed, but grateful to the team.”

“We feel lucky, because we have generated an atmosphere between the fans and the team, that those of us who have been from Penya since we were little, know that it is not easy to create“, continued Duran, already from the press room of the Palau Olímpic in Badalona.

The black-and-green team’s coach assessed that “in the second half we were very tired and on top of that some of the shots we needed didn’t go in” and, although “the effort has been ten”“we haven’t reached the fifth game because Barça is better than us”.

“They have taken us to the limit, but we haven’t been able to. But for La Penya to finish the Endesa League only behind Real Madrid and Barça, when four years ago we were going to disappear… We’ve got 10,000 people here and it’s all thanks to the guys at home. In a few years we will remember this year as a wonderful year”, underlined the Joventut coach.

Lastly, Duran described the Barça coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, as “rude”since, in his opinion, “he does not value” or “respect” Joventut because “he only talks about them and not about us” and “he has disrespected them a little”
