The Baskets Bonn are back on track. After the first defeat of the season in the BBL last weekend, the leaders won the guest appearance at Mitteldeutsche BC.
In the end, Bonn won 91:74 (36:36) at the MBC and thus consolidated their lead in the table. Last weekend, the Baskets gave up the points for the first time this season at the giants Ludwigsburg.
But this setback was apparently still having an effect. Bonn found it very difficult to get into the game and initially had to let the outsider go. The team from Weißenfels led 23:13 in the early stages.
Hard at first
“We had a hard time,” said Leon Kratzer, the second-best thrower in his team with 16 points, “but then we pulled ourselves together and defended better. The most important thing is the win.”
Ludwigsburg stay tuned
Driven by center TJ Shorts, coach Thomas Ilsulo’s team got into the game better in the second quarter and took the lead for the first time at 29:28.
The MBC initially stayed tuned, but more and more the Bonn strengths prevailed. Jeremy Morgan in particular took control of the game. With 21 points and eight rebounds, he was also the best scorer for the old and new table leaders.
Prepared for the top game
The Baskets are definitely well prepared for the top game next Saturday (December 11, 2022) against second-placed Bayern Munich.
