Meghan (40) is a champion of equal rights for men and women, as she has proven over the years. She advocated for women’s access to education, she traveled to Delhi and Mumbai in 2017 to meet girls and women who are affected by the stigmatization of menstruation and she spoke regularly on the theme of feminism. For example, she said that women’s suffrage is about feminism, but that feminism is actually about justice.
Her husband Prince Harry also supports her in her mission. She once called him a proud feminist.

This video proves that she was sensitive to gender inequality from an early age. She was critical of manufacturer Procter & Gamble’s commercial for dish soap in which a woman touts the product with the slogan “Women across America are fighting greasy pots and pans.”

Meghan decided to write to the company and asked to change the slogan from “women all over America” to “people all over America”. Procter & Gamble listened to young Meghan and changed the slogan.
Equal rights will also be an important item on Monday during International Women’s Day. In the Netherlands, this year’s theme is F/M solidarity – the power for change.
