The water level in the Sint-Eloois-Vijve marina had dropped by about two meters in June last year. A problem with the weir that regulates the water level is said to be the cause. It now appears that there was either a bad contact in the emergency stop circuit, or someone pushed the emergency stop button. In the latter case there is sabotage.
The circuit has now been renovated and the warning system is now ready.
