Ingman updates the recipe for the legendary Twister ice creams. It means that milk is added to the products, so they are no longer suitable for those who are allergic to milk or even lactose intolerant. Ingman tells about it on his website and social media.

Ingman justifies the change with an international recipe change. Milk containing lactose will be added to the products in the future. In the future, they will no longer be suitable for vegans, milk allergy or lactose intolerant people. A fifth of Finns, or more than a million, are lactose intolerant.

We asked Iltalehti readers what they think about the change.

Those who commented on the change could be divided into three groups: opponents, happy and indifferent. First, the opponents:

All I can say is thank you hell!! It’s already hard enough to find good ice creams as an intolerant person. For example, no one makes decent chocolate ice cream anymore. Classic had the best chocolate ice cream until they ruined it by replacing it with yuzu white chocolate, which isn’t even chocolate. Instead, the dark chocolate with kinuski was removed. Twister is my favorite ice cream. I used to be excited when the milk was removed. I finally got that hellekelie treat. Our family and some friends protested because of this. Twister is replaced by Fazer’s new, tangy popsicle ice cream and Lips. Thank you for this too. If I can’t eat my favorite ice cream anymore, then be without our money. Mother and 12 protesters

Twister was the only popsicle my son could eat. Next summer, there won’t be any more ice treats. Nina

Ingmann and other companies should interpret the situation better in Finland when we have 20% of the population who are lactose intolerant. It’s absolutely absurd to justify the change as “international” when people can’t eat these anywhere else either. So it seems that you can no longer enjoy these either. Lactose-free since 1993

A really bad and unfair change to the production of Twisters. There is little ice cream selection for those with milk allergies anyway. Ingman, cancel the change and make those with milk allergies happy! Grandma

To affect, en can eat anymore. Otherwise, ice cream factories don’t even try to notice people who are lactose intolerant. Thank you for this little joy in your hands. Retail

Thank you

However, many have longed for the “old and traditional” Twister, which included milk.

Excellent change! It took years, but now you can definitely find at least one Twister box in your freezer. Jones

It seems that in the future, after a long break, I will start eating them again. As a child, I liked it specifically because of milk ice cream, because I’ve never liked popsicles, and I don’t care much for sorbets either. But in hot weather, a small twist of sorbet or popsicle ice cream in wonderfully soft milk or cream ice cream is a refreshing and refreshing addition. Julia

I myself have not been able to eat twisters because of other allergies, milk has no effect. However, there are milk allergy sufferers in my family, for whom this reform is a miserable thing. One less ice cream they get to eat, there aren’t very many of them anyway. Annoyance.

Yay! This has been waiting for! The favorite jätski abroad is twister thanks to the milk, but in Finland it has not been as good. Jade

It doesn’t matter

For some of the respondents, the change does not matter at all. However, they wanted to tell it:

Doesn’t matter. Not every product has to be suitable for everyone. Jani

Does not affect you or your family. It’s good if you buy it once a year, when you like ice cream more. Elsie

I don’t eat the product. Doesn’t matter. Country
