Microsoft warns Windows users to delete the empty folder that appeared on the computer, says Bleeping Computer.

The InetPub, published on the machine, is obviously important, even though it contains nothing. In most cases, the folder has fallen to the root of the C drive and can be encountered in both Windows 10 and 11.

According to Microsoft, removing the folder can expose the device to security vulnerability.

– This folder should not be deleted, regardless of whether or not the Internet Information Services (IIS) is in use on the device. The folder is part of the protection -enhancing changes and does not require any action from administrators or users, Microsoft explains on their website.

If the InetPub folder has already been removed, you will get it back to go to the settings and select Programs> Programs and Features> Put Windows features on or off and by activating an alternative Internet Information Services.
