On Easter Monday there is a coming and going of Obdammers on the industrial estate. A couple puts their arms around metal processor Cor Meijer. His wife also gets a hug.
“All my things have become unusable,” he tells NH emotionally. He prefers not to respond on camera.
His wife explains where the pain is. “My husband works somewhere else for four days and on Fridays and Saturdays he is here. He was planning to quit his other job and earn money from this until he retires. Now everything is gone.”
Origin of fire still unknown
Despite the sun, the building looks dark. Windows are broken, shreds of insulation hang from the outside and everything inside is pitch black. There is a completely burnt-out vehicle in front of the building.
The building houses a total of seven companies, including a car cleaning company and a painting company. According to several people involved, the fire started at the car cleaning company, but the police have not yet confirmed this.
