Wanda keyboardist Christian Hummer has died

Wanda mourn their keyboarder Christian Hummer. The founding member of the Viennese band died after a long, serious illness – the group said in a statement on their social media channels. The exact cause of death is not yet officially known.

“It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that our band member and dear friend Christian Hummer passed away after a long, serious illness. Christian was a gifted musician and a wonderful person. His enthusiasm for music and his devotion to people made him so endearing,” writes the band. “There are no words that can do justice to this loss. Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family. Christian’s music, love and humor will always be in our hearts.” They are asked to respect the privacy of Hummer’s family and the band. “We will never forget the years together with you, Christian, and will always keep you in our hearts as a person and musician,” the band ends their statement.

activities cancelled

All activities that would have been planned for the coming week have been cancelled, the band said. Formed in 2012, the group will release their new self-titled album on September 30, 2022. The release party for their new album should have taken place in the Berlin Badehaus on September 28th, so it fell through. An extensive tour was planned for winter 2022 and next spring – it remains to be seen whether these dates will take place. Alongside Wanda, Hummer ran the LoeweLoewe project, where he was responsible for vocals and guitar.
