Wall Street considerably lower after threat of new taxes: most important index lost 10 percent in less than a month

The stock markets in New York were closed on Thursday with substantial losses by renewed worries on Wall Street about a worldwide trade war due to the import duties of President Donald Trump and damage to the US economy through those rates. Trump threatened earlier in the day with towering taxes on wine, champagne, cognac and other alcoholic products from the European Union.
