Wales have won the World Darts Team Championship for the second time.
The favored duo of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton clearly defeated Scotland 10-2 in a one-sided final, crowning themselves again after 2020. Price and Clayton had previously survived a critical semi-final in an 8-7 win over Belgium.
The prize money for the winners is 80,000 pounds, which is the equivalent of around 93,500 euros. Scotland with the two veterans Peter Wright and Gary Anderson missed the third title after 2019 and 2021.
In front of almost 3000 spectators in Frankfurt am Main, there was still a relaxed atmosphere even after the semi-finals of the host duo Martin Schindler and Gabriel Clemens. At high temperatures, the four darts greats wiped the sweat from their foreheads on stage.
The English seeded in first place (Michael Smith and Rob Cross) lost 8-3 to Germany in the quarter-finals in the afternoon.
